System Image V3 Release

minute requested to merge sysimage-v3 into main

Biggest improvements over V2:

  • Clean integration into Debian infrastructure
  • Reduce custom built packages to a minimum, and move the remaining ones to cleanly install via our Debian apt repository
  • Linux Kernel 5.17, ability to upgrade via apt
  • Modular kernel
  • Move from Connman to NetworkManager
  • H.264 hardware decoding available in mpv
  • More display brightness levels, especially in lower range
  • Suspend-to-RAM integrated with systemd
  • initramfs support
  • Distroboot support in u-boot
  • Bugfixes in reform-migrate and other tools
  • GNOME 40 supported
  • Cleaned up image build system
