instead of shipping the whole header, apply a patch
make sure to build known-good commit b0e908b1ecbd5762e6cbab30c4c43debd273886e instead of latest HEAD
set $fdtfile to CONFIG_DEFAULT_FDT_FILE
set CONFIG_DEFAULT_FDT_FILE to choose the correct dtb per platform
